r3 translation reference set element

Sets the "reference translation" of the system to a particular domain element (usually a particular intl). Translators can then use the reference translation as guide for the translation of terms whose meaning is obscure. For example, as a term to be translated, "CLICK.TERM4" might not make much sense, but, if you've set the reference translation to the intl uk, the translator can refer to the uk translation, which in this case might have translated the term to "Click here".

In r3, the translator can find reference translations of a term in two places: 1) the r3 GUI displays it next to each term, and 2) when r3 writes the XLIFF file, it writes the reference translation for every term into the term's alt-trans element. (For more information about alt-trans and other XLIFF elements, refer to the XLIFF specification on structural elements.)

By default, r3 sets the reference translation to an element of the intl domain. You can use the -d flag to change the dimension from intl to something else. For example,

$ r3 translation reference set -d product cookery
reference translation product set to cookery 

sets the reference translation to cookery for all products. And

$ r3 translation reference set uk
reference translation intl set to uk

sets it back to uk for all intls.
